If you watch Ten’s story arc backwards, it’s about a mad man who is taught how to do good and learns a sense of happiness by finding friends, but they leave him (to get married or to go to med school) and he just kind of accepts his loneliness until he meets a blonde girl in the midst of a crazy battle. It’s great at first, then they have a rough patch, but by the end he’s so accepted into her family that he’s invited to Christmas dinner and even sleeps in her bed.
Man. I really miss Rose and Jack and Donna and Martha and Mickey and Jackie and Wilf and Sarah-Jane.
Really, the first four seasons of Doctor Who should have been called “The Amazing Adventures of the Doctor’s Awesome’s Friends.”
